Euthanasia: the patient decision.
Euthanasia is a controversial topic for legislatures around the world if should be legal and normalised. Also, the main question that Surrounds this issue is: who has the decision to appeal to this process? Is it the government or the family? This text is dedicated to defend why euthanasia is a right procedure and why should be up the patient. First, definition of euthanasia is an intentionally helping a person commit suicide by providing drugs for self-administration; at that person’s voluntary and competent request. What does this mean? the patient, who is suffering from an incurable and painful disease, takes the decision to end his own life. However, in many countries, such as the UK, it is illegal to assist anyone in killing themselves for health. This shouldn’t be like that, because even in his or her last moments the patient is living, even they have rights to decide how reduce their pain. Second, a lot of supporters of voluntary euthanasia believe that everyone has the right to control their own body and life, and should be allow to decide at what time, and in which manner they will die. Finally, euthanasia is a professional assistance, that provides care and worries for the patient. For all those reasons, is clear that euthanasia is a process which is focused on helping and relieving the patient from pain. Which means is just for good reasons, is not murder, is medicine guides to respect a life in their last moments.
